Putting on your first event is exciting, and a bit daunting. Here’s the order we’d tackle things in.

1. Set up the event

Use the guided setup wizard with a live preview of your public page. Add a banner, poster, About text, schedule, good-to-know notes and Q&A. Stuck for words? “Write with AI” can draft your About text, nothing changes until you apply it.

2. Decide your tickets

Start simple: one or two ticket categories. If you want Early Bird pricing, sell a category in tiers, and let the next tier open automatically when the previous one sells out.

3. Choose your rules

  • Refund policy: none, until a number of days before, or always.
  • Named tickets: useful when you need to stop resale.
  • Order limit: how many tickets one person can buy.

4. Get paid

Connect your own Viva Wallet or Stripe account. Buyers pay straight into it, so there’s no waiting for a platform payout.

5. Plan the door

Make a pairing code for each entrance, brief your staff and do a test scan before doors open. The scanner works offline, but pair devices while you still have signal.

The best events feel effortless to the audience. That usually means the organiser did the boring bits early.
